At Cording Homes + Design, our interior design work is brought to life through Ivory & Oat—a design identity rooted in natural, warm, and grounded aesthetics that help create a truly calm home. We serve residential, investment and commercial clients, designing homes as well as professional spaces like lobbies, offices, and other client-focused environments. Along with full-room design, we also provide light renovation guidance, offering expert recommendations for paint colors, flooring, lighting, and finishing materials to help you make confident choices during any style refresh or renovation.

initial consultation

Each project begins with a consultation, which is conducted on the project site for local clients and virtually for those outside the area. The consultation fee will be invoiced prior to the appointment. During the consultation, we walk through your space, discuss your vision, and gather reference photos. Virtual clients are invited to share walk through videos and supporting images in advance. All clients are asked to share at least three to five inspiration photos. After the consultation, clients receive a Summary Review that outlines the key takeaways, expectations, and next steps, ensuring clarity and alignment before any design work officially begins.

mood boards

Following the consultation, we move into the design phase, where customized mood boards are created at a flat rate per board. One board represents one room or a defined area of a larger space. The first board is paid upfront before any design work begins, with additional boards billed upon completion unless otherwise arranged. Each board is first delivered as a preview, followed by up to two revisions at no additional charge, ensuring the final result aligns with your personal style. Unless otherwise directed by the client, furniture and décor items are sourced from our personal favorites— Target, Amazon, Wayfair, Walmart, At Home, Kirklands, Home Depot & Lowes— just to name a few. Please note that all mood boards are inspirational visual guides and not scaled representations; clients should carefully measure their space and all furnishings before placing any orders.

Once a board is approved, fully shoppable links are provided, allowing you to purchase items at your own pace, wait for sales, use coupons, or even source similar alternatives.

on site styling

Once items arrive, local clients may choose to hire Ivory & Oat to install and style the space at an hourly rate. Clients are responsible for ordering, unpacking, and assembly of any furniture prior to scheduling.
